The wildfires on the West Coast have burned over 5 million acres. For perspective, the entire Adirondack Park is 6 million acres. The devastation is incomprehensible. Climate change is real.
Real Estate is booming in the Park. Inventory is in short supply. The Adirondacks were the destination of choice for vacations this year, as we are (for the moment) essentially COVID free. The only homes being built are high end custom homes.
Colleges are the latest COVID hotspots. What happened in Oneonta is deplorable. What a lack of responsibility on the part of the college (no testing of students as they arrived on campus) and the students (total disregard for social distancing, wearing masks). So far, Paul Smiths looks to be be doing things right ( the College AND the students)
The fishing is great on Loon Lake, right now.
