A Wintery Fall Day

Porter and I went out for ducks, early this morning– the last weekend of early duck season, and the first day of late goose season. We saw both. Early duck season is important to me at the lake– several of the ponds are already freezing over. I had to break ice to put out decoys. By the time late duck season starts, most of our waters are frozen, and we head up to the flyway along the St. Lawrence.

We pulled the dock out, as the forecast was for snow, with the Nor’Easter coming up the coast. We also replaced the heater in the garage/workshop and I got things set to pull the truck in the garage at night, through the Winter.

As promised, it began snowing this afternoon. It is sticking. The wind has picked up considerably. So, of course we made pizza.
