Paula and I took Porter and walked into the North Branch of the Saranac River, off of Goldsmith Road. We wore snowshoes, to avoid the infrequent post hole. With the thaw, the snow in the woods had receded to a mid-level icy crust. Porter loved it. We had a light snowfall for the entire hike. Heard some rabbit hunters across the river– two shots, and their beagles.
This is one of our favorite grandkid picnic spots. Happy to report the hot dog/S’more sticks we have hidden in the woods are still there.
